Is HIV positive person eligible for IAS/IFS exam?
HI Sir,
I have a friend in guntur who is very intelligent and has a bright academic career But, unfortunately, he is infected with HIV and now diagnosed as HIV positive. Is he eligible to write IAS exam??? or is he eligible for any other UPSC exams??? please reply... regards, Raju Kamalesh Naidu |

No, your friend is not eligible to take participate in UPSC exam. Because, HIV is considered as not Physically and medically fit. Any student who, has a disease which, have no any treatment is considered as not fit student. So, your friend should take medicine and if, after some time HIV will negative then, he can write UPSC exam. Age criteria for UPSC IAS exam are as follows:-
General- 21 to 30 years OBC- 21 to 35 years Sc/St- unlimited |
