In order to become a Sub-Inspector in the Police Department, you will have to qualify entrance examination conducted either by the Police Recruitment Board or Public Service Commission of the state you belong to.

As far as academic qualification required for the position of Sub-Inspector is concerned, one must possess a bachelors degree in any discipline. However, depending upon the guidelines and regulation of each state government, the age limit for the position may vary. In most of the states, the minimum eligible age is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years. But as mentioned earlier, the age may vary and could be different in your state and since you have not mentioned the state you belong to, its difficult to provide you the exact age limit considered eligible for the position of Sub-Inspector in your state police. the eligiblity for the post of subinspector job is ,
1) you should have completed b.tech/ degree from any recognised university
2) you should have secured 50% in your degree
3) your age should be between 21-25 years , for open category persons
4) your age should be between 21-28 years , for obc category persons
5) your age should be between 21-30 years , for sc/st category perssons

in some cases, the stste governmnt will change the age critieria by increasing the age for all categories .
This will happens in rare cases only .

You should attach all the forms or documents along with passport photo and you should give them to your nearest police office in your city
