IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam .

Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.

Your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

To apply for CSE (IAS,IPS etc) you first need to be a GRADUATE candidate.

#Guidelines-

-Start your preparation with NCERT's from 6th to 12th.

-For CSAT, command over general studies, comprehension, interpersonal skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision making and problem solving and general mental ability.

In order to get into the Indian Police Service(IPS) a candidate must clear the Civil Services Exam which is conducted every year by the UPSC..

Candidate must have following eligibility criterion for appearing for Civil Services :-

>> All candidates must have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized institute..

>> Candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years for the general candidates..

>> OBC candidates must be 21-33 years of age..

>> For SC/ST 21-35 years..

>> For PD candidates 21-40 years..

>> General candidates are allowed a maximum of 4 attempts..

>> OBC candidates have 7 attempts..

>> SC/ST/PD candidates have no limit..

>> Candidates belonging to all the categories must be physically fit to clear the medical exam..

To become an IPS, you have to apply for UPSC exams.

There are some eligibility criteria given below for the IPS aspirants:--

1) The candidate must be an Indian.
2) The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination.
3) For SC/ST candidates there is a provision of 5 years age relaxation.
4) Te candidate must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university.


Number of attempts:-
• General candidates: four attempts.
• Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
• Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.
