How can I become an IPS officer?


i want become a ips officer but i will take diploma now what can i do?

IPS stands for Indian Police service.IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam .

No , Diploma candidate are not applicable for IPS exam .

Age criteria for IPS exam for general candidate is 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is there as per govt rule .

Age relaxation for IPS exam:-

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

A diploma completed candidate can not be eligible for IPS(Indian Police Service) exam because the minimum educational qualification is Graduation. So complete your graduation to eligible for IPS. UPSC conducting this exam every year once.


The candidates who are completed their bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university are eligible and one morething is that no need of percentage to eligible for this exam.

The candidates age should be in between 21 years to 30 years. Three years of relaxation for OBC candidates, Five years of relaxation for SC/ST candidates, Ten years of relaxation for Physically Disabled candidates.


Selection process:-

Civil Services Preliminary Examination,

Civil Services Mains Examination,

Personal Interview.


Number of attempts of is based on the category of the candidate. There is a chance of 4 times for General candidates, there is a chance of 7 times for OBC candidates and there is no limit for SC/ST candidates.

IPS Stands Indian Police Service

It is a one of the civil services & conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year

IPS Exam Eligibility :

Nationality : Citizen of Indian

Educational Qualification : Degree in any stream from a recognized University

Final year appearing candidates also eligible

Age Limit : Candidates age limit between 21 to 30 years

The upper age relaxation as per govt rules

3 & 5 years for OBC & SC/ST candidates

Selection Process :

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination

Interview

Number of Attempts :

Four times for General candidates

Seven times for OBC candidates

No limit for SC/ST candidates

IPS - Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness, can apply for IPS, Civil Service Exam.

Apart from this, the eligible candidate should have minimum prescribed Physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT - General /OBC Male - 165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST - Male-84cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview
