How to become a CBI officer -

To become a CBI officer, then you have to appear the exams conducted by UPSC. And This exams is held generally once a year for the post of Sub-Inspectors of Police in Central Bureau of Investigation and the application forms and other particulars are published in the Employment News in the month of October.

Eligiblity -*

If you have completed your bacholar degree, then you are eligible for appear in this exams. But your age is between 20 to 25 years.

Yes , you are eligible for CBI exam after completion of your graduation.

Crime Branch CBI (Central bureau of Investigation) is a specialized wing in many state police forces in India of their Criminal Investigation Department .

Other branches of the CBI are

• Finger Print Bureau
• and Scientific Section.

To join in CBI you need to write the CGPE EXAM conducted by UPSC...!!
and minimum qualification for that is to be Graduate..

You should be in between 20 to 27 years of Age.
Relaxation is given to SC/ST which is 5 years and For OBC 3 years.

Exam consists of Part I and Part II

part I it consist of Paper I of General Test of 200 marks and Paper II is
of English Language of 200 Marks.

Part II consists of Interview which is of 100 Marks Total.

other way of joining the CBI is to clear the civil servicies exam conducted by UPSC everyyear, by opting for the particular all india services like the IAS or the IPS you can get an entry into CBI directly at higher posts.

Process to be an ASI in CBI

To become an ASI in CBI one has to follow the below given steps:-

1.you have to procure the “Application Form” along with required information from the employment newspaper generally published in the month of April. sent the filled Application form to the regional centers as mentioned.

Note:- The notification for the examination with relevant details regarding rules and syllabus is published in the month of April in the 'Employment News' / 'Rozgar Samachar' , 'Gazette of India', and in some leading Newspapers of the country.

Preliminary Examination

In the month of May or June the aspirants have to take the “Preliminary examinations” consisting of two papers. The papers are on:

Part A
1.General Intelligence and General Awareness 100

Part B
2. Arithmetic 100

2 Hr.


Note:- This exam is just a qualifying exam for the Final exam and scores obtained in this exam are not added to make the final result.


Main Examination
if you are declared qualified in the “Preliminary examination” are supposed to take the final exam.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination
The minimum educational qualification required for applying to the SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination is a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of any recognized Indian University.

For Assistant Grade & Sub Inspectors in CBI, candidates must be aged between 20 and 27 years.
SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination Pattern

The SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination is divided into two stages, each carrying maximum marks of 100 and having duration of 2 hours. The First Section tests the General Intelligence & General Awareness of the candidates while the Second Section is on Arithmetic.

Each section contains a total of 100 questions of objective type, multiple-choice pattern. Questions of the examination are set in both Hindi and English.

cbi(central bureau of investigation) does not directly recruits candidates fresh after graduation because they mostly depute officers from other intelligence units like raw and ib.hence if u want to join cbi then u have to go through the oter intelligence units. for grade 'a' posts although they take ips officers on deputation basis.

This is muni.. i'm lowclass family... but studyed BE but not clear.. have 2 arear 2010 pass out....but
My Tenth % is 85% marks.. Nalla vazhikatti illama BE select panta.. na secret offer ra iruka asa pandra..
Kasukaga illa. Natla yarum kasta padakudathunu...
If possible for my tenth mark (415) pls tel what i want to do next...
