You are not eligible to join merchant navy direct after completing your 10th.

Candidates who want to join merchant navy should have completed at least their 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics subjects from the recognized university.

Candidates who have passed their 10+2 are eligible for direct entry as a cadet in merchant navy.

But, if you want to get entry in merchant navy as an officer then you should have completed at least your B.E. in Marine Engineering or B.Sc in Nautical Science.

Only male candidates are eligible to sit for this exam.

So, don't worry, first of all complete your intermediates and then you will surely become eligible for merchant navy.

No its not possible for you to join Merchant Navy, Because to get in to Merchant Navy the Minimum Educational Qualification needed is 12th with Physics and Maths.

Eligibility Criteria to get in to Merchant Navy :-

• You need to have completed your 12th with Physics and Maths.
  
• You need to have completed your Bachelors from Marine Engineering if your looking out for a Officer Position.
  
• Your age need to be not more than 20 years for Deck Cadets entry.
  
• You need to be physically and mentally fit .
  
• You should not have Color Blindness or eye Sight.

To become a Merchant Navy you have to clear National Defence Academy(NDA) examination.

NDA examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for the below posts:

* Indain Army.

* Indain Navy.

* Indian Airforce.

Eligibility for Indain NAvy exam in NDA:

--> Candidate have to pass class 12th board examination with Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics subkect.

--> candidate have to score at least 50% marks in all subjects in 12th examination.

--> Age of the candidate must be within 16.5 to 19 years.

--> Only Indains can apply for NDA.

--> Unmarried candidate can apply for NDA.For Indian army only male candidates are eligible.

Select process in NDA is in 3 stages.

Stage 1: WRITTEN EXAMINATION.

Stage 2: SSB Interview.

Stage 3: Medical Test.

NDA examnation is conducted twice an year in the month of may and in the moth of September.
