Re: How is the career in aerounatical engineering? What entrance exams I need to give?
Since you are doing your 11th Std now you will have to answer entrance exams in order to get into engineering courses of your choice.
There are some entrance exams at all india level that can directly get you into Aeronautical Engineering 1) IIT JEE 2) AIEEE 3)ISAT These 3 exams are most preferred as they get you into Top Colleges in India. IIT JEE is considered as the toughest exam in India whereas AIEEE as second toughest. ISAT is a new exam and has only 150 to 200 seats all over india. But it guaranties you for a job in ISRO So take you 11th std seriously and prepare well for these entrance exams from now itself as they require proper 1 year to study Cheers |

dear friend
There are very wide career in aerounatical engineering. because aeronautical engineers are concerned with the design and construction, testing and operation as well as maintenance of aircraft and aircraft components. If you are interested to doing this course then you have to appear this entrance test like IIT- JEE, AIEEE etc. Best institute of aerounatical engineering course are- IIT, Powai, Mumbai,Kharagpur,Chennai, Kanpur Indian Institute of Aeronautics, Patna Institute of Aviation Technology,Bahadurgarh, Haryana Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai Hindustan Inst of Engineering Technology,chennai Nehru College of Aeronautical and Applied Sciences, Coimbatore School of Aviation Science and Technology, Delhi Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. ok all the best. |

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have passed class 12 (PCM) with at least 60% aggregate including PCM. NIT's: Admission is based on AIEEE, ranks.AIEEE is conducted by CBSE every year for admission into 34 nranches of engineering in all NIT's and many other hundreds of institutes. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have passed class 12 (PCM).You can appear for it three consecutive times. IIST:Admission is based on Ranks in also ISAT,conducted by IIST itself. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have passed class 10 with at least 70% aggegate in science and also class 12 (PCM) passed with at least 70% aggregate. Besides this there are also various state based entrance exams like- WBJEE, MH-CET etc. Best of Luck Last edited by faiyaz; 28th May 2010 at 07:46 PM. Reason: Correction |

@swarp
The career in this field much brighter that one can expect. The job profile, the packages and the facility all are very good. But, let me tell you one thing very clearly that aeronautical engineering is the branch of engg in which design and maintainance of planes fall. The 'FLYING' term and the 'ENGG' term are two different section of aviation sector. SO, if your interest is in designing then you can think about Aeronautical. @Faiyaz All the information given above are correct about the entrance exams but there is a mistake in IIST admission process. The IIST has stopped admission through IIT-JEE rank and the only admission process is ISAT. Thank You |

Hi friend..............
Your choice is good, if you want to go in aeronautics then you must have to give some entrance exams like iitjee, aieee, wbjee, etc. From there you will enter in btech. But you will have to work hard in study for better result in your 12th exam and a very good rank in your entrance exam. All the best and thank you! |

aeronautical engineering has a very good scope in future.............
for doing the aeronautical engineering you will first have to get atlest 05 in your boards exam and then you will even have to crack the exams for doing Btech........................... the engineer of IIT is most accepted all over the world so if you think you can crack IIT that will be the best for you......... other exams are also there like AIEEE BITSAT LPU IP nd many more private institutions...... |

Re: How is the career in aerounatical engineering? What entrance exams I need to give?
ISAT by ISRO to get seat in IIST is the leading one as it is only based for aeronautics with a job in ISRO.
IIT-JEE is far better than ISAT as it is old than IIST and stands in top 100 rankings. SRM also offers aeronautical engineering with very good standards.... Considering with all situation of India doing mechanical engineering in under graduation and specialising in masters degree works better |
