Re: How to do B.Tech lateral entry I am BSc student
B.Tech lateral entry allows Diploma and B.Sc graduates to get admission in the second year of the third semester of the B.Tech course and aquire a degree in B.Tech for better job scope.
Since diploma in Engineering alone is not enough these days to get decent job, lateral entry in B.Tech is seen has a great option for students to aspire good job. Similarly in the case of B.Sc students like yourself the idea is to make Science students more competitive while applying for the jobs. Since Science degree does not provide enough jobs these days in India, a lot of students are not opting for Science field. With the lateral entry the idea is to provide Science students more jobs opporunity after completing graduation course in Science. There are several universities in India that reserve some seats for the lateral entry candidates. In order to get lateral entry you need to meet certain criteria: 1. You must have Bachelor's degree in Science with at least 60 percent marks. This rule however is relaxed by very few colleges who give entry even after 50 percentage but they are very rare. You will have to score 60 per cent marks for lateral entry. 2. Your pattern should be 10+2 followed by 3 years graduation course. 3. Mathematics should be one of the subjects at the Degree level. However this requirement changes if you are pursuing B.Tech in Biotech where B.Sc graduates in Medical would be considered. |

Re: How to do B.Tech lateral entry I am BSc student
Yup u can get admission in engg directly in second year but what the use? you are wasting your year 3 3=6. 2years waste...instead you can go for Master degree It has more values that B Tech degree. The only thing that matter is working experience. So give a second thought
