Sir i am a graduate in civil engg. passed 2010,how could i get a seat in IMA?

hi friend,

It is good that you are an engineer but for entering in IMA you only need a graduation. CDS exam is organised twice in a year. Here is some detail about exam.
Vacancies: 250

Notification: It comes in the month of Mar/Apr and Sep/Oct.

Received before: May and Oct. respectively

Duration : one and a half year.

Age: 2nd Jan to 1st Jan for Jan Course.
2nd Jul to 1st Jul for Jul Course

So one has to clear the CDS exam to enroll himself in IMA Dehradun.

these are direct ENTRIES..
make sure of all the dates issued by government of army
and..
one more there CDS
in which you have to write one exam and have to clear to go for IMA dehradun

IMA is Indian Military Academy which is a defence force of India and for joining in this force you need to write a entrance exam which is CDS.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Academy and this exam is one of the exams conducted by UPSC every year and this exam is held twice in a year.

For writing this exam you must possess certain eligibility criteria and they may include:

The candidate must be a citizen of India and the candidate who are want to write the CDS exam must be a unmarried male candidate.

For joining in IMA the candidate must have a age limit of 19-24 years and regarding the education qualification for joining in IMA it is that the candidate must have completed a degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage.

How To Get Into IMA

Selections for the Indian Military Academy are done through the Combined Defense Services Exam conducted by UPSC in the months of February and September..

The candidates appearing for the CDS must comply with the following norms :-

>> Candidate must have cleared his graduation from a recognized University in any stream..

>> Candidate must be in the age limit of 19-24 years for IMA..

There will be 3 papers carrying 100 marks each based on :-

>> General Awareness
>> Elementary Maths
>> English

You can join IMA if you crack the combined defense services examination , conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

The CDS Exam is conducted twice in a year in the months of February and December.
