To become an IPS officer you will have to successfully pass the civil services examination conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility criteria for becoming an IPS is as follows:
Education - The candidate must hold a bachelors degree in any discipline obtained from a recognized university. Candidates appearing in final year degree exam may also apply.
There is no percentage requirement.

Age - The candidate should be between 21 to 30 years of age.

The civil service examination is conducted by UPSC(UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION)every year. The examination has three stages i.e.,
1)Preliminary examination(normally conducted during the second half of may)
2)Main examination (normally conducted during the month of oct/nov,those who are selected in preliminary are only eligible for main examination)
3)Interview(those who are selected in main examination will be eligible for interview)

ELIGIBILITY
1)A pass in a degree from any University,
2)For IAS and IPS the candidate must be a citizen of India,
3)For other services a candidate can be either a citizen of India,a subject of Nepal,a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetian refugee

AGE LIMIT
1)21 years must be completed by the 1st AUGUST of that year,
2)GENERAL-30,OBC-33,SC/ST-35;EX-SERVICEMEN WILL GET 5 YEARS EXEMPTION

OPEN-4,OBC-7,SC/ST-NO LIMIT

Hi,

You need to apply for Indian civil Services exam conducted by UPSC wach year. First you have to clear the prelims which consist of general knowledge and aptitude from this year and second exam is Mains for which you need to choose subject of your choice and interest. As far as the height is concerned it shoul be above 154 cm.
you should be graduate to be eligible to apply for the exam. You can get the notification about the exam in the employment newspaper.

yes it is good to become an IPS officer.

The minimum height required for male is 165 cm & for female is 155 cm.

So you have a good chance of not getting rejected due to unable to fit physical requirement.

Besides that you need to an graduate with age between 21 to 30 years.

In case if you are in final year than also you can apply.

In order to become an IPS officer you will be required to appear for exam which is conducted by UPSC.

To become an IPS officer you must crack an exam called UPSC exam.You

can download the form from the following website.

You may also apply off-line in the common application form which can be

purchased from the designated head post offices/post offices throughout the

country against cash payment of Rs 30/- (Rs thirty) only.

QUALIFICATION: The applicants of exams must be a graduate.

HEIGHT: 150cm to 170cm is the required height limit for becoming an IPS.

IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

The eligibility criteria for IPS exam-

1.You must have complete your graduation in any discipline...
2.Your age should be in between 21-30years for general..
For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5years..
For OBC age relaxation is 3years..
3.You must be a citizen of India.

These are the criteria to appear in IPS exam...

What height is Required for IPS

The Eligibility Criteria for IPS examination are mentioned below :

* You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college / university.

* Your age must lie in between 21-30 years. There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years For OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Educational Qualification:

The upper age relaxation is applicable for the other categories.

There is no specific exam as IPS exam. To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

Besides this the candidate should have minimum prescribed physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT - General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

Chest:- Male-84cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

The selection is through two stages of written exam such as Preliminary Exam also called as CSAT(Civil Serevice Aptitude Test) and Civil Service Main Exam followed by final selection through Personal Interview.
