You can't Join IIT after doing Diploma because there is No Such Lateral Entry scheme for IIT's and NIT's.

If you want to join then you have To Write IIT Exam so that you can Join from Ist semester.

Your Diploma is Consider as Equivalent to 10+2.

So, If you are Interested then You can Give IIT JEE Exam.

there is no lateral entry in IITs so it mean that you can not join IIT without giving exam.

and but you are eligible for EXAM

eligibility for IIT JEE:

A candidate must have passed the QE for the first time, after October 1, 2009 or in the
year 2010 or will be appearing in 2011. Those who are going to appear in the QE later
than October 1, 2011 are not eligible to apply for JEE 2011.

The candidate can appear in the Joint Entrance Exam two times only, that also should be
in consecutive years.

The candidates who will be giving their final examinations of 10+2 in 2011 are also eligible
to apply.

3 or 4 year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state Board of technical education.

Hi..
Lateral Entry scheme is not applied in IIT.
you have to appear IIT Exam and you can join from 1st year.
Your Diploma will be considered as 12th class board.

hii, you do btech first then for mtech write GATE then land in iit only option left for you best of luck.

iam doing B-TECH after b-tech iam join by IIT.

now i am in Second Year Engineering.
