I am completing my graduation in May-2015. And I wanted to join i Indian Army. I am pursuing my degree in B.Tech In the stream of Computer Science & Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological university Hyderabad. And Please help me for that.

You are eligible to join Army through CDS exam for the post of Officer. CDS stands for Combined Defense Service, this exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

Eligibility for CDS exam:
You must be Graduate in any stream from a recognized University
Your age must be between 19 year to 24 year.
You should be citizen of India

or
You can apply for the post of NCC women in Army.

Eligibility for NCC Women Army post:
Degree holders can apply for this post.
Your age must be between 19 year to 24 year.
You should be citizen of India

A part from these exams you can also apply for following training courses specially for women.

1. Officer Training exam

Eligibility Criteria:
Marital status should me unmarried.
You must be Graduate in any stream from a recognized University
Your age must be between 19 year to 24 year.

2.Sort Service Commission Training:

Eligibility Criteria:
Marital status should me unmarried.
You must be Graduate in any Engineering from a recognized University
Your age must be between 20 year to 24 year.

3. Low Graduate Women: This exam is conducted by Indian Army.

Eligibility Criteria:
You must have done LLB/LLM with 55% marks.
Your age must be between 21 year to 24 year.

To join Indian army after graduation you have to pass CDS examination.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Examination. Through CDS you can join Indian Navy, Air Force and Indian Army.

Eligibility Criteria :

IMA & OTA : Candidate must have completed his/her graduation degree from any recognized university.
Naval Academy and Air Force Academy: B.Sc with Mathematics and Physics or B.E. or B.Tech

Age Limits :

• Officers’ Training Academy : 19-25 Years
• Air Force Academy : 19-23 Years
• Naval Academy : 19-22 Years
• Indian Military Academy : 19-24 Years

Selection Procedure :

• Written Exam
• SSB Interview

Written exam consist of following subjects :

• English : 100 Marks
• General Knowledge : 100 Marks
• Elementary Mathematics : 100 Marks
• Total : 300 Marks

After passing written exam candidate will be called for SSB Interview. marks for SSB Interview : 300 marks.

See, if you have the spirit of joining the Indian Army then you can do so after graduation. There are many options after graduation for joining the defense services. Some of those options are-
1. CDS exam,
2. university entry scheme
3. Air force conducts its own exam AFCAT which girls can also give after graduation.

Eligibility is graduation.

Regarding other details like height/weight etc, so those are different for different wings so that can be confirmed when their notifications appear in the newspapers and on the internet.

After the graduation as a female candidate there are some chances to enter the defence, Here you can apply for the C.D.S. (Combined defence service) exam which is conducted by U.P.S.C. India where necessary eligibility criteria is-

**Candidate should be Indian and have completed the graduation from a recognized University approved by UGC and AICTE.

** Candidate should not have any physical disability and should having eye sight 4/4.

**A subject of nepal can also apply and age limit is upto 22 years in Air force and Navy and 23 for Army wing. Relaxation is given 3 years for OBC class and 5 years for SC/ST classes.

**A height for male candidates is 172 CM and for females 158 CM and weight should be minimum of 55-65 kg for males and for females minimum 45-55kg.

# Through CDS Examination you can join Indian Army by joining Officer Training Academy (OTA). While through Short Service Commission you can join Indian Army just by clearing an interview

# Any bachelor degree is sufficient for these examinations.

# Height must be above 152 cms.

# It is mandatory to be unmarried.

# Must be free from any physical abnormality.

CDS exam is conducts for following wings:-

Indian Airforce

Officer's Training Academy

For Indian Military Academy - Candidate should be complete Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university.

Age should be between 19 years to 24 years.


For Indian Naval Academy- Candidate should be complete a Graduation degree with studied maths,phyaics,chemistry in b.tech or equivalent from a recignised University.

Age should be between 19 years to 22 years.


For Indian Airforce- Candidate should be complete a Graduation degree with PCM sujects in b.tech or equivalent from a recognised University.

Age should be between 19 years to 23 years.


For Officer's Training Academy- Candidate should be complete Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university.

Age should be between 19 years to 25 years.

There is no age relaxation for CDS exam.

Candidate should be an Indian Citizen.

Hi,

I am sorry to say you that you are not eligible to join Indian Army as you are female.

To Join Indian Army after Graduation you have to appear in CDS examination conducted by UPSC.

But as per the rules for CDS only Unmarried Male candidates apply for Indian Army post.

But for other three sections in CDS Female candidates can Apply.

--> Indian Air Force Academy.

--> Indian Naval Academy.

--> Indian Military Academy.

Eligibility criteria for the above three posts is

1. Age must be in between 19 to 25 years.

2. Must complete graduation in Science,arts or commerce.

3. Only unmarried candidates can apply for CDS.

Being a female candidate your opton left for ARMY is through OTA i.e. Officers Training Academy.
Entry to OTA is through the exam of CDS conducted twice a year by UPSC.
CDS has 4 wings but only OTA is for females.
The age limit for OTA is 19-25years at the time of applying.
Educational qualifications needed are Graduation from any stream from recognized University.
