This year MCI is conducting NEET for MBBS. This exam will be conducted for more than 35,000 seats all over India. The colleges included under this exam will include nearly 314 colleges in India. There will be nearly 16,000 seats under government colleges covering nearly 144 medical colleges. Another 19,000 seats will be available across 170 private medical colleges.

How many college accepted to include in NEET 2012. Whether Gujrat or Maharastra is agree for NEET 2012

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the entrance examination which is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) every year. Full form of NEET is National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. If you want to do UG courses like MBBS, BDS and PG courses like MD,MS etc then you need to sit for this examination. Medical Council of India and Ministry of Human Resource Development proposed this exam.

Right now taking into consideration both the government and private medical college there are a whooping 271 medical colleges in India. So that means approximately 31,000 medical seats. Of all these colleges most of them falls under NEET. Though it should be remembered that AIIMS have not been included in the NEET list.

Till date there were about 25 different medical entrance exams to study MBBS. Most of the students used to appear in more than one medical entrance exam to ensure that they get selected at least in one medical college. This meant there was tremendous pressure on the students as it was hard to cope up with the different syllabus and exam pattern of each entrance exam.

With NEET that problem has been dealt with quite successfully. NEET will work like an umbrella under which most of the medical college will reside. This exam will be the entry pass to those colleges. This will give the students more time to get used to the subject pattern and the syllabus of this exam. The pressure on the weak shoulders of the students will be comparatively less now.

The minimum qualification required to sit for this exam is that you need to be a higher secondary passed out candidate and in addition to that you need to secure 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together. There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates. SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together.

You cannot apply for this exam unless and until you turn 17 years of age. There is upper age limit relaxation for the reserved category candidates. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates there is 5 years age relaxation. This exam can be given for three times.

Please Note:- You need to get 50 percentile in NEET to qualify.
