how much score is needed in WBJEE to get an admission in GOVT ENGINEERING COLLEGES in WEST BENGAL?

Dear friend
There are mainly two colleges in WB which are counted in not only the best colleges of bengal but also counted among the best 20 colleges of India.
These are
Jadavpur University and Shibpur university. these two are the completely government institution.
If you don't belong to WB itself then you need to score at around 1000 all india rank in the WBJEE. The university has its 50% seats reserved for WB students. So if u belong to WB then you will be privileged.

I WILL BE SCORING AROUND 75 OUT OF 200 IN WBJEE ENGG EXAM. WHAT WILL BE MY PROBABLE RANK?

Very few Government engineering institutes are there in West Bengal for getting in through WBJEE.

The best and famous Government Engineering colleges of West Bengal,which conducts admission through WBJEE are as (Rank wise) follows:-

Jadavpur University:1-500 (However,last year closing rank was 365 in construction engineering).

Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU):Rank in WBJEE- 1-800.(However,last year closing rank was 637).

Kalyani Government Engineering college:1-750.

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering college:1-3,000 (IAF also conducts campusing here Under Fast Track entry Scheme).

Netaji Subhash Engineering College: Any rank within 17,000.

Government Engineering College : Any rank within 22,000.

Murshidabad College of Engineering & Technology : Any rank within 25,000.

Bardawan Engineering college: Any rank within 2,000.

Bankura Engineering college: Any rank within 20,000.

Asansol Engineering College:Any rank within 20,000.

Kindly note the whole answer was given by analysing previous years councelling and admission method. Nobody can tell the exact (100% sure) that's because this year number of seats has also been increased.

First of all the name of college is "Kalyani Government Engineering College"

For getting into Mechnical or Production Engineering you have to score With in 750 in WBJEE.

Kalyani stands at 3rd position in government Engineering colleges of West Bengal.

There are few govt. colleges where you can get admission with this rank.

How to Apply

Friend you have scored well, in WBJEE.

If so your probable rank in WBJEE will be near about 10,000-12,000. However it also depends upon the councelling also.

And also this time WBJEE papers was comparetively easier then previous year so many sstudents had done well, this will also effect the whole ranking system.
Also government had promissed to introduce more 20,000 new seats,so if seats are increased the also the ranking will be effected.

But I am sure your rank will not cross above the mentioned range.

I am expecting to score around 85 in WBJEE 2010. I belong to General category and West Bengal is not my domicile state. What rank can I expect? No cahnce in JU,BESU and Kalyani,for getting there at least 800 in WBJEE is required . However,I am sure you can get into Jalpaiguri Government and IEM.

If my Analysis is not wrong. Your probable rank will be anything between 3,500-5,000. However this time WBJEE papers was comparetively easier then previous year so many students had done well, this will also effect the whole ranking system.

In West Bengal there are two government engineering colleges. They are Jadavpur and Shibpur Engineering College. But there is tough competition for seat in these two prestigious colleges. In both of them 50% seats are reserved for residents of WB. So if you are one then you have an edge. Otherwise you will have to do very well in all India entrances.

but you can get in private colleges s like JIS college of engineering...
