Well !! It is a hypothetical question .!
it depends according to many points like

->Your Interest.
->Your Grasping power as the syllabus will be vast
->on your habits like you have to sacrifice some of the habits like chatting,roaming with friends,movies, surfing, googling etc.,, etc., many are there in this list you can add up on according to your inner.
->Your potential to complete the task.
->Concentration and Dedication towards the committed work.


as you know the syllabus is very big to see but if you concentrated ly prepare for it.you can easily complete that task within 6-7 months with perfection.

if not like that if you want just to give a trail then you can get completed with whole syllabus within 1-2 months.
it depends on how deep is your aspiration. if your target is high then your planning will be deep.

Hope so you understood the toughness of the examination.
but there is nothing impossible to achieve.
you can also do it while others have already did it.

Yeah i know for being an IAS you will have to mingle urself in the preparation ..There is no chance for timepass activities like chatting....

you can prepare the syllabus of IAS exam in minimum 1-2 year.

what can i say about this exam, this exam is one of the india's toughest exams.but that doesn't mean it is impossible to achieve. you can do it and clear it .this exam comprises huge amount 0f syllabus to complete .it is depends upon you, how muh are you firmed for preparation of this examination. at least you have 1 year for completion of this exam.

Hi.

The IAS is the toughest exam in India, and people spend years in its preparation.

So mainly the preparation time depends on a few things :

Your speed
Your understanding power
Your memorizing power
And daily how much time are you devoting to your studies.

Now you know your strengths the best.

Start your preparations right away and if you are fast enough, it wont take you more than 5-6 months to be thorough with the whole course of IAS, of whichever stream you are from.
