How to prepare to become an IAS officer and which subjects to be chosen? I am a class 12th student from science
I want to become an ias officer in coming years.... i am class12th passed student from science with getting 85% from a govt. school in year 2011... and i dropped this year.......
now I want to prepare for ias officer...... so which subjects i want to choosen for greution so i becomes an ias officer in future.... |

To become a IAS officer you need to prepare hard, for this you need to read daily magazines as a habit. In this there is restrictions to which subjects you have to chose, so you can chose any of the subjects as your wish. IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC once in a year. Eligibility criteria: The candidate should be complete graduation from a recognise university in any stream. Age limits is 21years to 30years. Candidate should be a citizen of india. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. and its eligibility criteria-- you should complete your graduation with any stream from any recognized university. and your age should be between 21-30 years. after class 12th you can choose any subject. |

To become a IAS Officer you need to work hard, and read the magazines daily updated news watch and prepare hard to become IAS officer and you can choose only two subjects in IAS. IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC once in a year. Eligibility criteria: you should be a citizen of india. The applicant should be complete graduation from any recognized university. The candidate age limit should be 21 to 30 years. The age relaxation available for sc/st and obc candidates. Both male and female candidates are eligible for this exam. If you want to become an IAs officers then firstly complete your graduation because you complete 12th and graduation is the minimum educational criteria. so dear firstly complete your graduation. Eligibility Criteria OF CSAT exam should be graduate from a recognized university in any stream (marks or percentage doesn't matter) Age of the candidate is 21 to 30 year, If he/she belong from general category Age of the candidate is 21 to 33 year, If he/she belong from OBC category Age of the candidate is 21 to 35 year, If he/she belong from SC/ST category Nationality Should be Indian general candidate- 4 OBC- 7 SC/ST- no limit best of luck |

IAS that is Indian Administrative Service and according to their norms,it is required a Bachelor’s degree from recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely, 1. Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science,
2. Botany, 3. Chemistry, 4. Geology, 5. Mathematics, 6. Physics, 7. Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. As you mentioned class 12th pass out, until & unless you are completing Graduation, you are not eligible for preparing IAS examinations. Age Limit: As a general candidate, you must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below: Up to maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ ST while up to maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes/ OBC. General candidates can attempts for four(4) times, SC/ ST candidates have no restriction while OBC can attempt for seven(7) times. If you fulfill your GOAL, be positive, work hard, invest quality time for your graduation. |

Just opt for a Graduation course from a recognized University and start your preparation along with the Graduation.
The basic qualification for IAS exam is Graduation in any discipline means any type of Graduates can apply for this examination. You can prepare through self study or by taking admission in a good coaching class. The examination for IAS will have wide range of questions and you have to be very well prepared in each subject then only you will crack it. Exam Pattern: Preliminary Test (Objective Type Paper) -General Studies I (Indian Polity, General Knowledge etc)-200 marks -General Studies II (Aptitude Test having questions from Maths, English, GK, Reasoning )-200 marks Mains Exam: -General Studies -1000 marks -Essay-200 marks -Optional subject I -500 marks -Optional subject II- 500 marks -Compulsory English language-100 marks -Regional language- 100 marks -Personality Test -275 Marks Number of attempts is limited for General and OBC category with 4 and 7 attempts. For SC/ST the number of attempts are unlimited. |
