It is nice that you want to join IPS exam after graduation.

you can join this exam. age limit is 21-30 years. age relaxation is given to reserved category students.

you must be Indian citizen,

Some preparation tips for you;-+

----first read exam pattern very well

----join any best coaching center

---follow best books

----read news paper daily

Minimum age limit for IPS exam is 30 years. Relaxation is offered for reserved category candidates. 3 year and 5 year age relaxation is offered for OBC and SC/ST candidates respectively. Preparation can be done using reference books, question papers and e-books. Getting trained under any of the reputed training centers will be useful.

IPS(Indian Police Service) exams are conducted by UPSC every year. You must have graduation degree from a recognized university for IPS.There is no percentage criteria for this exam.

Age Limit for IPS exam:
General - 21 to 30 yrs
OBC - 21 to 33 yrs
SC/ST - 21 to 35 yrs
Defence Personnal - 21 to 33 yrs
Ex serviceman - 21 to 35 yrs

Preparation for IPS exam:

1. You need focused study of subjects. You should analyze the syllabus, and hard work is needed to crack this examination.
2. You need to have good knowledge of current affairs and our history and administration.
3. It’s important to have some reading habits as that will help you to keep yourself updated about the current affairs. Read lots of magazines.Also you should be strong in aptitude and the subjects that you have chosen or will choose.
4. It may be advisable to join a coaching institute so that one keeps in touch with other students and discuss issues with them. It is important, however, to select a good institute. However, one can be successful by self-study also.

How To Prepare IPS Exam

To join the Indian Police Service or the IPS is a matter of great pride and honor for any Indian..

To make it through to the IPS..you will have to clear the UPSC conducted Civil Services Examination

The minimum requirements for appearing in the UPSC Civil Services Examination :-

> The age of applicant must not be less than 21 years..

> Maximum age limit till which the general candidates can appear is 30 years..

> For OBC candidates..maximum age is 33 years

> For SC/ST applicants the age relaxation is of 5 years so they can appear till 35 years..

> You have to be a graduation degree holder which can be any discipline but it has to be from a recognized college..

> There is no percentage criteria for appearing in this exam..

There are 2 papers in the 1st stage of Civil Services Exam which is also knwn as the CSAT

There are 3 subjective papers based on Essay Writing, General Studies and English for IPS

After clearing the Mains round..you can appear for the Personal Interview and then the Physical Examination round..

After clearing all the above mentioned rounds..you shall become an IPS Officer..
