i'm an engg 5th sem student in IT field and want to pursue a career in defence either army,navy or air force.can u sugest me some fields in defence in which i can really prove myself.do mail me ur reply.

Hey Sunith. Thats great to know that you aspire for a career in defence services. For that after Graduation you can appear for CDS Exam conducted by UPSC which is for admission to all the three defence services. Also since you are an engineer, recruitment is done specially for those with engineering degree for certain posts for which notification is released in newpapers and will also be available at the main website.

It is highly appreciable.U finish your graduation successfully and appear for examinations like National defence academy or naval academy examination,combined defence services examinations.Having an engg degree,u can directly enter into SSB interview and they will provide stipend.

joining defence services is just like giving something back to your country.
you can either join army,navy or air force .
taliking air force there u can apply for electronics branch which deals with signal and communication stuff.
in army you can go for signals group
and regarding navy you can join engine department which deals with technical management and working of all machinery.
for all thisa first you have to complete your b.tech with min 60%.

b.tech (IT) is mainly recruited by airforce,in ther ground duty or navigation cadre or logistic cadre.you have to deal with sophisticated technology there.
there are two modes of entry to it

since u r a student of 5th sem...u can either write cds exam.....or u can also apply through ues ie. university entry scheme......
in both the cases u will be directly called for interview.....and if got selected then u will be told to go for medicals....

you can join defense after your graduation after :

1)CDSE --it is conducted twice a year,and is conducted by UPSC.it has a written exam followed by SSB.

2)UES -- it is called university entry scheme.it dont have a written exam and the students are called for SSB directly on the basis of their marks in graduation.

A graduate can join through the Combined Defence Services examination as a regular/short service commissioned officer. Training for regular commissioned officers is carried out at Indian Military Academy , Dehradun, known as the cradle of Military leadership. Those desirous of joining the Short Service Commission get trained at Officer’s Training Academy at Chennai and serve for a period of five years. On completion of this term he can either resign or opt for an extension for five years or a permanent commission.

after your degree apply for CDS this will be suitable for you to join defence force .......

i appreciate your decision of getting into defense, there are many ways to get into it :-
1) you can give the NDA exam

2) you can apply for direct interview under technical entry scheme(for this you have to score 75% in pcm)

3) you can go for it after completing your graduation by giving CDS exam.

Hiiiiiiii This is great thing that you want to do something in Indian Defence its age limit is only from 19 to 23 year....
You can go to indian air force and indian army........

yes you can make your carrier in the defence.
for that you have to apply for cds,and indian air force form.

u can use your skills for country if u choose to go into engineering branches of defence forces....also, keep in mind that modern air-crafts are less crafts and more computer, so u might prove a good fighter-pilot.

ya you can make your career in defence by getting any job in army navy or airforce .. it is highly prestigious

or after your b.tech course you can give the exam of cds,and then you can full fill your dream.

I m currently in 11th (pcm) nd ambitious 2 go 4 IAF as high commissioned officer. Bt i want 2 know dat is it necessary 2 take outside coaching during 11th nd 12th?
To get in IAF only aeronautical engg is dere or v can go 4 some oder courses like B.tech, etc?
R dere any xams 2 join it just after 12th wid some reputed rank in IAF?
