Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
MATHS:
CO-ORDINATE:- straight line, circle, locus. ALGEBRA:- complex no.,qudratic equation,probability,a.p.,g.p. CACULUS:-LIMIT,CONTINUTY,integration,application of calculus. Trigonometry all are important (carries near about -5marks each year) PHYSICS: mechanics, kinematics, vectors, gravitation, atomic physics, Electronics and electromagnetism. CHEMISTRY:- bonding, organic chemistry, metals.however tough questions are from physical part. ABOVE MENTIONED ARE THOSE PARTS WHICH CARRY MUCH WEIGHTAGE IN IIT-JEE. You can able to score more then 150 just preparing this nicely. And also give as much as mock tests possible,it will bring perfection to you. Best of luck |

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
see rahul time is very less now ,so i suggest you to go through those chapters again and again over which you have a good command.
because nobody does all the question in the exam, so try to master those topics which you know. but then also, being a NITian i will suggest you to give an extra emphasis on certain topics like:calculus, limits, quadratics, sets, trigonometry and geometry. organic chemistry, electro and surface chemistry. kinematics, vector physics. best of luck!! |

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
generally the portion of iit is the mixed combination of 11 th as well as 12th.....
if u r gud at both the years then it becomes very simple to attempt as ur basics will be very clear.......... although it is not required ....but still if u want to know it please refer......www.askiitians.com/ it is being maintained by iitans so it will be very help full to u........ best of luck |

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
there is no special weight age for an special chapter in iitjee ,some times the questions are based on two or three chapters combined,
you have to just make your basics strong |

keep a good command on what you do best
so go thoroghly from those topics in which your concepts ar clear now this time well above topics suggested by a NIITian are selected and prepare them well |

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
hey the weightage is 60 and 40......for 11th its 40 and for 12th its 60...
mechanics in phy organic in chem coordinate geometry and calculus in maths have the highest weightage.... algebra secondly and phy chem and optics in phy comes after that... easy questions are from inorganic in chem electro and magnetism in phy and trigo and reasoning in maths |

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
there is no any such chapter in which you can give the more weightage, because iit cover whole the syllabus.
so you should equal pay your attention to the all chapter, do not take any question too much easy. |

chapterwise preparation is not a better idea for this type of toughest exam like iit..for success in iit you should have depth knowledge in every chapter..

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
u can clear cut off marks for chemistry only from ur 12th class syllabus.for physics u do both 11th and 12th...but u can emphasis more on 12th. Sylabi.for maths just u can clear by 12th class syllabus but go the maths is not easy in iitjee.

IIT JEE 60% Syllabus is from 12th, and 40% from 11th....
focus on PHYSICS- electromagnetics, mechanics, quantum physics,optics... MATHS- algebra,calculas,co-ordinate chemistry- organic, physical.... give attention on chemistry first then physics and lastly math\s good luck |

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
For math, calculus is the most easiest nd scoring topic in jee as it posses a high weightage and solving questions from these topic is very less time consuming,,,,Also, vectors nd 3 D are very much scoring topics.........Also for d last 2 yrs p&c is relatively easier....and other important scoring topic is conic section as it is easy n can be done easily.
In chemistry , i wud suggest u to just learn the ncert book specially for inorganic part as if u just remember as many things den u can score at a very fast rate nd this will save ur time for other questions.........for organic , i wud tell u to just remember d named rxns given in d book.....Also i wud suggest to do proper time to atomic structure as dis is a very high scoring topic from 11th chemistry.. All the best. |

Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
thw weightage for the exam of IIT has never been declared by the institute
however when you will refre to the older papers you will find that 70 percent of the questions are from 12th standard and the rest are from 11th the pattern keeps changing every time so there is no surety of the weightage distribution i have mentioned. |

As the pattern of iit changes every year so noone can say that how much weightage is given to which subject. But it has been seen that the syllabus of +1 is less asked as compare to syllabus of +2. But to clear iit you should have to study +1 also thoroughly. |

for IIT and JEE no chapter is weightage. you have to read every chapter carefully. question may come from any chapter. to secure a good position in IIT or JEE read your text book carefully and try to understand the concept. then you will get a very good position. best of luck.

If you want to know the exact trend of questions of IIT-JEE then get an Arihant's Chapter wise analysis of IIT-JEE. I see this available on all book stores that deals in books for IIT-JEE. The analysis of 2006,2007 and 2008 is attached with this message. Find it into the attachments. But you can't forecast any future JEE on the basis of previous trends. Many questions use to be based on miscellaneous concepts. So, you will in a positions to solve problems only if you have good basis concepts which comes from practice as many problems. Try to practice all previous years question papers and also join a good test series like FIIT-JEE. Thank you |

However, depending on IITJEE syllabus we can list the followings:- MATHS: CO-ORDINATE:- straight line, circle, locus. ALGEBRA:- complex no.,qudratic equation,probability,a.p.,g.p. CACULUS:-LIMIT,CONTINUTY,integration,application of calculus. Trigonometry all are important (carries near about at least -5marks each year) PHYSICS: mechanics, kinematics, vectors, gravitation, atomic physics, Electronics and electromagnetism. Re: IIT JEE, weightage of chapters for both 11 & 12 standards
Dear Friend.......................
There is not any specific requirement but compulsory you would be follow the following criteria most of the leading IT company give their eligibility criterion as student should have minimum of 60% marks throughout the career and they should not have more than two years gap at the time of study. they allow backlog one or two paper if you are able to clear your backlog before applying for the job. you have less than 60% marks in your 12th so it may create some problem. but as you have good marks in polytechnic so may be you will be eligible. but unfortunately if you are unable to be eligible for leading company then do not worry so many company also recruit IT student who have lower marks. best wishes. |
