The CSIR – UGC NET exam is conducted for awarding lectureship and JRF position in different subject areas related to science. The post graduation in any of the science subjects is the main criterion for this exam. The percentage of marks required is 55%. The CSIR NET exam will include 3 parts. The first part will cover questions from subject areas such General Science, Quantitative reasoning, research aptitude etc which will be common to all. The second section will include multiple choice questions related to the subject you are specialized in. The third section will include analytical questions which will be aimed to test the candidate’s knowledge and application ability of scientific concepts.

CSIR UGC NET also know as National Eligiblity Test is conducted by UGC Twice in a year.The examination is generally done in the month of June and December every year.

You can not apply for the December examination but you can apply for the June examination

ELIGIBLITY

Those students who have got master’s Degree with 55% from universities recognised by UGC you can apply for the examination

Final year students are also take the exam.

Age limit ::

For Junior Research Fellowship - You should be not more than 28 years. A relaxation upto 5
years is provided to SC, ST and for OBC candidates.

For Lectureship - There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship.

Pattern of the examination :

This time the examination is of objective types .The Test will consist of three papers of only objective type questions .

The three papers will be conducted in two session.

Paper I :Will contain the following questions :

Reasoning ability
Comprehension
Divergent thinking
General awareness.

Paper II and Paper III will be based on the optional subjects chosen by the candidates .

Important dates :

Application Submission Start Date : 29-3-2012
Application Submission End Date : 25-4-2012
Last date for receiving the documents at the test center: 2-5-2012

UGC NET entrance exam is conducted for College Lectureship and PhD. If you are interested in lecturer job in government college then it is necessary to appear for the National Eligibility Test.


This exam takes place twice a year. First time in June and second time in December. Only candidates who have completed post graduation can appear for the National Eligibility Test. In order to appear for the NET exam for Life Science, your post graduation subject must be related to the field.


The responsibility of conducting NET lies on University Grants Commission. You can find out about the details and admission procedure in the notification which is published by the UGC ahead of the National Eligibility Test.



Eligibility

1. Post graduation degree in any stream but from a UGC recognized university.

2. 55 percent marks in post graduation.

3. SC/ST candidates need 50 percent marks.

4. Final year students of PG may also apply.

5. Your subject for NET should be related to your post graduation subject.

6. The age limit for Junior Research Fellowship in 28 years.

7. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

8. SC/ST gets 5 years relaxation.

9. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.

10. There is no limit on number of attempts.

Notification CSIR-NET Exam:



NET stands for National Eligibility Test. NET exam Being Conducted by UGC.

This exam will be conducted for the award of junior Research Fellowship(JRF) and also for eligibility into Lectureship.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

**The candidate should have a citizen of india.

**The candidate should complete the graduation from any recognized university.

**the candidate should have to score a minimum of 55% of marks in their post graduation course in order to be eligible for this exam.

Relaxation is there in percent of marks upto 5% for tech candidates of sc/st category.

AGE LIMIT:

There is no upper age limit for the candidate lectureship.

But for JRF candidates the age limit between 19 to 28 years.
