HAS stands for the Himachal Pradesh Administrative services .It is state civil services of Himachal pradesh.

The eligibility criteria for the exam is as below:

>>Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university .Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

>>The age limit for the general candidates is 21-35 years .Age relaxations applicable to obc and sc/st and government employee.

>>The official website is http://www.himachal.gov.in

Now coming to examination pattern:

It consists of two papers :

Paper I : 200 marks -100 objective questions:

>>Questions are generally from general science ,history ,geography ,political science,current events.

Paper II :200 marks :100 questions objective:

>>Questions are from logical reasoning ,mental ability test ,comprehension ,communication skills ,decision making etc.

Initially, a (Preliminary) objective type of examination consisting of 2 papers based on multiple choice questions, on the following pattern will be held at Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Dharamsala, Nahan and Una centres:-

Paper-I General Studies

Paper-II Optional Paper

Eligibility criteria

• A candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from a recognised University.
• A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years on the first January of the year of examination.
• Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh is a desirable qualification.
• A candidate must be a citizen of India.
• Generally Wards of Ex-serviceman erroneously mention and encode the code of Ex-servicemen of H.P. in the relevant Column of the Computerised application form. It is made
• clear that there is no reservation for the Wards of Ex-servicemen of H.P. in these services. Therefore, they shall write and encode the code of category(s) to which they belong. The Ex-Servicemen candidates of H.P. must go through the relevant Rules and instructions of the reservation notified / issued by the H.P. Govt. from time to time in order to ensure their eligibility for admission to the aforesaid examination. Similarly other reserved categories candidates are also required to go through the relevant instructions in order to ensure that they are eligible under the particular category(s)

After Successful Completion of State level civil services exam,the candidates are posted to Sub-Divisional Magistrate.Sub Divisional Magistrate is the head of Sub-District and its representatives of the state Government.
SDM is responsible for implementation of al most Four Dozens laws Including :

1. Revenue.
2. Environmental.
3. Election.
4. Land.
5. Food.
6. Sociology-Economic Legislation.

Qualification required for HPPSC Exam :

• You should have a Bachelor degree in any discipline of at least 3 years from recognized university.
• Your age should be between 21 years to 30 years.

HPPSC Exam will be conducted in three phases.These are :

1. Screening Test.
2. Main Written Examination.
3. Viva Voice.

Details on Screening Test :

The Screening test will include questions from General Knowledge.Total number of questions will be 120 and all questions will be objective type with multiple choice answers.Total duration of this exam will be of 02 hours.

After passing in the screening test you will have to appear in Mains Written exam and final selection will be done on the basis of Viva Voice Test.You will only able to appear in Viva Voice Test if you have get passed in Mains Written Examination.

How to Apply for HPPSC Exam :

1. Visit its official website http://hp.gov.in/hppsc/
2. Check "Apply Online".
3. If you are a new user then create your User Id and given password.
4. After completing user registration you can select the list of exam for which you want to apply.As per your Interest you should Apply for State Civil Services Exam.
