Complete Information About UGC NET

The National Eligibility Test is conducted every year by the University Grants Commission for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship program every year in the months of June and December..

A candidate must fulfill the following minimum eligibility criterion for appearing for the exam..

1) The candidate must be less than 28 years of age as seen on the 1st of June or December (depending on which exam you are appearing for)

2) You must have also completed your post graduation from recognized institute..with at least 55% without rounding off (50% for reserved candidates)

The exam shall be conducted in 3 stages :-

Paper -1 which shall be of 1.25 hours and will be having 60 questions out of which you have to attempt only 50 questions..

Paper-2 which will have 50 questions and all are compulsory and to be attempted in a time span of 1.25 hours

Paper-3 will have 75 questions to be attempted in 2.5 hours..

You will find previous year question papers in the same website and the syllabus related to each subject so you can have a rough idea about the pattern and the level of questions asked..

NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

NET exam being conducted by UGC.

The exam will be conducted for the award of the Junior Research Fellowship(JRF) and also fro eligibility into Lecture ship.


Eligibility criteria:

you should have to score a min of 55% of marks in their post graduation course in order to be eligible for this exam.

Relaxation is there in percentage of marks upto 5% for tech candidates of sc/st category.

There is no upper age limit for the candidate lecture ship.

But for JRF, one should be in the age group of 19 to 28 years.

NET exam notification comes in month of March and September in employment News and ugc website also.

Net Result declare in the month of April for december month and second, june month result declere in month of october.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Post Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University with at least 55% marks(50% marks for SC/ST candidate) and above the age of 19 years, can apply for NET. There is no upper age bar for those applying for Lectureship but those applying JRF should be within the age of 28 years.

The NET can be applied through on line.

The last date of submission of application is 02.05.2012.

The last date of submission of hard copy of on line application form along with other documents is 09.05.2012.

The NET June 2012 Exam will be held on 26.06.2012.
