Hello friend,
For IPS, you will need to appear for Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC. To take the test, you must be a graduate within 21-30 years. Since you have attained the age of 20 years, you will have to wait for one more year to be eligible for the exam. After you attain the age of 21 year, you will have to appear for Civil Service Aptitude Test, which will be followed by Main Examination and interview. You have to clear all the three stages and secure a good rank to make it. You will also have to clear physical test. For detail, you must refer to www.upsc.gov.in |

the age limit for civil services examination is
min age limit 21 years max age limit 30 years its good idea to take CSE(Civil Service Examination) the youth like you must and should show interest towards civils. its appreciable.. and my suggestion to you is you have got a very good time to concentrate on civils in this time try to take coaching in one of the good institute in your city.. and try to explore more about your country.. if your talanted enough then do some part time jobs ..that will fill your basic expenses .. or if you're financially sound then concentrate totally on civils exam.. once you get through the exam.. it is clear that your life is settled.. Re: IPS exam after completing engineering and age 20?
For becoming an IAS, you have to appear for the Civil Service Exam that is conducted by the UPSC on behalf of the central Government.
Now, according to UPSC guidelines, to be eligible for sitting in the Civil Service exam, you need to fulfill the following criterias: 1.Age Limit: Candidate must have attained 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of the examination. Upper age limit for Candidates is 30 years(33years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST) 2.Educational Qualification: A graduate degree in any field from a recognized university in India,. If you are in the fnal year of your course, then also you can apply. Now coming to your question, as you are only 20, therefore you cannot apply right now as you need to attain minimum 21 years though you are educationally eligible for the exam. So if you turn 21 by 1st August, then yo can apply this year only, otherwise you can surely apply next year. Also, note: Maximum permissible attempts is only 4(7for OBC and No limit for SC/ST). So prepare and study hard for the exam as there is a tough competition and only the best get chosen. Please see the attachment for more details on the Civil Service Exam 2011. |
