Quote:
B]B.Sc in Economics Eligibility Criteria:[/B]
The admission process for undergraduate courses generally differs from one college to the other. While some prefers to conduct their own examination, others publishes merit list based on the marks you have secured in your boards exam. For the top notch colleges you generally have to secure 70% of marks in aggregate and atleast 75% of marks in mathematics. The mediocre colleges asks for 60% in aggregate and 65% or more in mathematics. Thus to pursue this course it is important for you to have mathematics as one of your subject at 10+2 level. Some colleges also accepts business mathematics but in that case you have to get very good marks in this subject. Simply by satisfying this criteria does not guarantees you a seat in the college you are looking for. The final merit list is published by considering the marks of all the students who have applied for this course. As far as colleges which conducts their own exam are concerned, they publishes merit list by combining the marks you have acquired in the entrance exam and in your board exam. The cut off marks of the top colleges is as high as 90 percent or more. Therefore if your aggregate percentage just satisfies the eligibility criteria then you will find it difficult to make it in the first or second merit list. In that case you have to score very well in the entrance exam (if any) to be one step ahead.
