sir,
i am a female cantidate doing btech in mechanical production. i have 8.27 cgpa upto 6th semester. can you advice me various government institutes which are core companies of mechanical to which i can apply.

the application form can be downloaded from the official website of IIST.....
the phd program is in feb 2010
the filled application along with attested copies of the documents must be sent to
administrative office,IIST,VSSC,ISRO campus,thiruvananthapuram ....with superscription "Application for IIST phd program"
it should also have a dd of rs 250.......

candidates will de shortlisted on the basis of Acedimic records and national eligibility test....
shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a exam...
then qualifying students will have to appear for a interview....
candidates passing in all the exam ...will be noticed for an final interview.....

last date of submission is 31 dec 2009.....

There are many companies both from private and public sector which you can apply for.Some of the companies which recruit Mechanical Engineering graduates are:-

BHEL,BHPV,ISRO,NTPC,DRDO,HAL,NTPC,SAIL,GAIL,ONGC,I ndian Oil Limited,JINDAL Steel..etc

How to apply

If you want to go through the recruitment process of each of the company then you need to apply for each of them individually.The notifications and other details like Syllabus will be provided in the official website of the company.Each company has its own recruitment process but generally the test will comprise of two stages i.e Written test followed by interview.

The application details and other information will be clearly mentioned when the notification comes out hence you need not worry about that.You just need to go through the official websites of the companies mentioned above.

Of course you can apply for various Govt. sectors like -

3.BEL
4.SAIL
5.ONGC
6.NHPC
7.GAIL

11.ISRO

As you have 8.27 CGPA that means your percentage is 78.56% and the percentage requirement for those companies are minimum 65% .So you can apply for all the above companies .

2.GAIL
3.SAIL
4.ECIL
5.RAILWAYS
6.ISRO
7.DRDO
8.NTPC
9.NHPC
10.IOCL
etc...

So, don't worry you will get huge job opportunity..
