i m doing b.tech in mechanical.I wanna do my masters in marine engg. please tell me the details to get admission for marine engg.? And is this a good option for me?if no, then tell me other options for my good career

marine engineering is really good but 4 those who hve no prob remaining away 4m hme 4 a long period u will lose ur family life but wil earn lot of money so just think over it b4 u decide 2 choose it as a career..

you can do marine engineering course after B. Tech in mechanical engineering.

for those who will be graduating from a marine engineering field, will have to take a few undergraduate courses before taking the core courses of marine engineering master's program.

These courses would be mainly from mechanical engineering and marine engineering.

Because you will have already taken the mechanical engineering courses for B. Tech., the number of foundation courses you need to take for Marine Engineering would be less.

Yes, you can do Master in marine engineering course after B. Tech. Since you will
be graduating from a non-marine engineering field, you will have to take a few undergraduate courses before you take the core courses of marine engineering

i will be graduating with BE-mechanical in 2011.. i have CGPA= 8.5 till 3rd yr.. i am very active and an adventurous person. but, since im a "GIRL" people have told me Marine engg is not the right course for me.
1. Can u plz tell me if i can get a job (good enough for a girl) if i do Mtech in Marine engg?
2. Wht is d procedure to apply to the above mentioned Indian institutions?
3. Which foreign universities are better- australia or Germany? both interms of Course content and Fees?

hello friend,according to my openion you first comple your b.tech course.then you can do marine engg.marine engg is a specialisation of mechanical engg.some university in maharastha & tamil nadu provides deploma in master marine you can do from there easily...

Dear its good that you are looking for Marine Engg.
But why you are totally diverting your field.

you should look for mechanical related field and still you have interest in Marine ENgg.

So you have to clear navy SSb.

Marine engineering is no doubt one of the best career option for you after completing BTech. in mechanical engineering. Marine Engineering has most in common with Mechanical Engineering though it requires considerable knowledge of other fields of engineering and science as well like hydraulic, control, pneumatic, process, electrical and electronics engineering, chemistry, naval architecture etc.

as you are doing the b.tech in the mechanical engineering. then there is no any problem.

after the b.tech you can do the M.TECH in the marine engineering,.

but for that you have to give the exams of the gate and after the qualifying the

gate exams, you can take admission for the m.tech in marine engineering.

yes, you can go for marine engineering in master degree.. for that you have to appear in entrance exam like GATE..

you take admission in mtech in different branch, but there must be some relation between these two branches.... As mechanical and marine engineering are related so you can go for that..
