To apply for Civil services you need to satisfy the below criteria :- -Graduation from a Recognized University. -Minimum of 21 years of Age and a Maximum of 33 years. -Age relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years and for OBC it is 3 years. Attempts :- GENERAL :- Only 4 Attempt`s. SC/ST:- No limit . OBC:- Only 7 Attempt`s. You need to be citizen of INDIA. So if you satisfy all the above mentioned criteria then you can apply for Civil service exam to become a IAS officer. IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one has to apply and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year.
There is no requirement of any percentage of marks in Graduation to apply for IAS Civil Service exam. To be eligible for Civil Service Exam, one must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The selection is through two stages of written exam:- CSAT - CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST - PRELIMINARY EXAM CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM The selected candidate out of the written exam will be called for a final selection of personal interview.
