UPTET is stands for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test and it is popularly known by its short form and here is the latest info about this Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET).

Eligibility for UPTET:

1.>Applicants should have B Ed degree. Validity of the B.Ed. will be decided by the UP state government. The B.Ed. degree certificate can not be more than 7 years old.

Pattern of examination of UPTET:

There will be two question papers and both will be in objective multiple choice questions. Each paper will consist of 150 MCQs.

Paper I: This is for those want to become teachers for classes I-V.

Paper II: This paper is for those aspiring to become teachers for the classes between VI and VIII.

Paper I and II: You can write both papers if you want to be eligible for teaching from Class I to VIII.

Syllabus of the UPTET:

There will be five Subjects / Sections in Paper I. There will be 30 objective multiple choice type questions in each section and they will carry one mark each. Duration of the exam is 90 minutes for each paper. Following are the subjects in Paper I:

1. Child development and pedagogy
2. Language I
3. Language II (Must be other than Language I)
4. Mathematics
5. Environmental studies


Nature of the Question papers and weightage for TET in various states differ according to their requirements. The qualification of UPTET is mandatory for those candidates aspiring to become teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
