NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. The entrance exam for this academy is organised twice every year for all those aspirant who dream to join different wings of defense like:

1. Indian Army

2. Indian Navy

3. Indian Airforce.

UPSC that is Union Public Service Commission has never disclosed any percentage of marks that had been chosen as passing percentage of marks in Mathematics so that General ability Test paper is evaluated.

However, yes this is true that if you percentage of marks in Mathematics paper is not above the cut off set by the commission in this paper, your General Ability paper is not evaluated.

So, you should try to attempt and solve as many as questions correctly in Mathematics paper which will increase probability for qualifying for second paper. However if solve 70% of questions correctly in Mathematics paper, your chance for evaluation of second paper is more probable. This is general trend seen and feedback given by selected candidates in NDA written test.

NDA 2 will be held in September 2015. The date of notification is 20/06/2015. After that you can apply for it, you meet eligibility criteria:

>>10+2 passed or appearing from a recognized board.

>>Age limit is 16.5-19.5 years.

>>You must be unmarried male Indian .

You should try to solve previous years papers of Mathematics as much as you can. Questions are generally from 10th to 10+2 level. It requires practice and accuracy in case of Mathematics.

There is no certain minimum percentage is required to be eligible for second round (GAT) of NDA 2 Examination. But remember, as Mathematics is a very important portion, you are definitely required to pass in Mathematics Examination (first round) of NDA Exam. I am providing you the detailed Examination pattern below to give you some Idea.

NDA (National Defense Academy) Exam Pattern (Or) Scheme of Examination:

Written Examination consists of 2 sections namely,

>> Mathematics (Object Type Test) - For 300 Marks

>> General Ability Test (GAT) (Objective Type) - For 600 Marks

>> Total Marks - 900 Marks

>> Marks for SSB Interview - 900 Marks

As this Mathematics (Objective Type) test is conducted for 300 Marks, I suggest you to score more than 200 marks (out of 300) to be in safe side. After scoring good marks in both Mathematics Test and GAT (General Ability Test) you will be called for SSB Interview based on Merit (Marks secured together in Mathematics and GAT Tests).

The eligibility for NDA is that you must have passed 12th class from recognised Indian institute. There is no percentage mentioned in notification. To apply for Indian air force and navy, you must have PCM subjects in 12th class.

This examination is conducted in two levels namely

Written test
SSB interview

:::::::Scheme of Examination:::::::::

Written Examination consists of 2 sections namely,

>> Mathematics (Object Type Test) - For 300 Marks

>> General Ability Test (GAT) (Objective Type) - For 600 Marks

You must answer for 900 Marks in the written test. If you qualify written test, you will be called for interview.

Marks for SSB Interview - 900 Marks

# NDA means National Defence Academy.

# There is NDA Examinations two times in a year which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

# First stage of NDA Examination is Written Test which is commonly known as General Ability Test (GAT). Candidate compulsorily has to successfully qualify the GAT in order to get promoted for second stage of recruitment process.

# General Ability Test (GAT) includes multiple choice questions of about 900 marks which is classified as following:

* Mathematics (300 marks)
* General Studies (600 marks)

# In order to successfully qualify the GAT and get selected for further stage of recruitment process, candidate has to qualify both the sections (i.e. Mathematics as well as General Studies) separately.

# It is advisable to try to get following minimum marks in order to get selected for next stage of recruitment process is given below:

* 170-180 marks out of 300 marks in Mathematics is good score.
* 350-400 marks out of 600 marks in General Studies is good score.
* Atleast total 520 marks out of 900 marks in General Ability Test (GAT) is highly admirable.

# But note that cut off of any examination is variable and it changes every year. Cut off is not constant. Actually cut off of any examination is depends upon various factors whichf are mentioned below:

* Toughness of the question paper
* Number of candidates appearing in the examination
* Performance of the candidates in the examination
