The full form of NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.

This examination is compulsory for candidates who want to take admission in MBBS and BDS courses. You want to get admission in engineering course then you need not apply for NEET exam.

In other courses like Bachelor Nursing, BAMS etc, NEET score is necessary.

NEET stand for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study any graduate medical course such as MBBS, BDS, or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in government or private medical colleges in India. Its not necessary that the student who passed with PCMB has to sit for NEET-UG examination. They have all right to select their career according to their wish and interest. But basically, if you wanted to pursue your career in Medical line then it is important to give NEET. NEET score is only considered for Medical admission. No other admission can be done on the basis of NEET score.

As you have mentioned that you wanted to pursue Engineering, and want to sit for KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) which you can do. You are very much eligible to sit for this examination because the eligibility criteria for KCET exam includes:

- Candidates who have passed 10+2 with with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/Biology/Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the language of study are eligible to apply for KCET exam.

You can apply both KCET for engineering course as well as NEET for the undergraduate medical course like MBBS and BDS as you have taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with Biology.

For KCET, PCM category candidates can apply and for NEET exam, PCB subjects necessary. For both exams, minimum of 50% marks in board exam is necessary.

You can apply for these exams next year when you appear for board exams.

NEET refers to National Eligibility Test and it is held by CBSE once every year for offering admission in undergraduate medical course like MBBS/BDS degree course across any medical colleges in India except AIIMS and JIPMER.

As far as you are concerned about the compulsion of students having passed their Class 12th with PCMB group for appearing in NEET then there is no such requirement and any candidate who is not interested in pursuing undergraduate medical degree course should not appear in this examination.

Also, for your information I would like to let you know that KCET ( Karnataka Common Entrance Test ) is an independent examination and it has nothing associated with NEET.

For more details regarding KCET you can refer to the link www.kea.kar.nic.in.

As per you have mentioned that you have also Biology as one of the subject then you are eligible to write KCET entrance test.

No it is not compulsory for all those students to write entrance test who have completed 12th from Science stream having Biology as main subject.

NEET score is important for pursuing Medical i.e MBBS.
If you want to pursue any other course then in that NEET score is not necessary.

No, it is not necessary that the PCMB candidate has to write NEET examination. If you are interested to pursue your higher studies in Bachelor's degree courses like MBBS or BDS, you have to appear in NEET examination else not required. If you are interested to take admission in Engineering course then, you can apply for KCET examination and there is no need to appear in NEET examination.
