Is NET exam compulsory for doing NET from any university?

To take admission in PhD does one has to be compulsory write the NET? Or, is there any other entrance exam also available? And, how much should one score in NET? Aren't there any university or college accepting PhD admission without NET exam?

SET(State Eligibility Test)/ NET( National Eligibility Test) is compulsory for having a PhD from any government University. If you will opt for a PhD from private university often NET/ SET is not necessary. They will give you the degree instead of a heavy amount of money.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
