Is online application form is for online test as well as offline test for gate2011?

the online application form is for the entrance test but you just fill it on-line.The test is offline means you will go to a centre for the exam.dont cofuse it as there is no on line test, only the facility to fill the form is online.

Both are totally different
for online you have to just scan ur photo and signature
for offline go to any nearest sbi branch and purchase an app

yea online application form and offline application form are different for GATE. apply in any one mode. last date of form fill up 27th october.

(b) Offline
In case of Online form fill up you need to buy a draft from a bank and then fill up the form as required.
In offline mode you need to fill up the form with a pen and you have to collect it from the specified centers as mentioned by the authority.
From this year the offline mode isn't valid.
You must have to fill up the form online.

i have applied for gate a week before but still the application status says it is not received at the zonal centre... what may be the reason? will it be updated only after i pay the fee??

process for applying online for gate is search for application form for gate 2012 then u get sme options click on apply online and click on click here then we get 3 options go on with register process then u get sme details fill in that nd submit it at every step atlast u get a download option download the form u can find sme instructions carry on with that instructions...

Now we have to fill the application form online only. but you can appear for online or offline test . Its your interest.
