Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude Passing % :- You Should score at-least 50% Overall Subjects to Crack CA-CPT. Means In CA-CPT Pattern its of 200 Marks and To get Pass in this Exam you need to score at-least 100 Marks. And yes Individual Marks also effects a lot you need to crack 30% in each Subject that means if a paper is of 50 marks then minimum Passing marks For this will be 15. Note* They do have Negative Marking for the same So be careful while attempting a question. If you are Not sure then Do think afterwards after attempting known ones. |

A candidate shall ordinarily be declared to have passed the Common Proficiency Test if he obtains at one sitting a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all the four subjects / sections comprised in CPT (Examination), subject to the principle of negative marking. It is clarified that there is no requirement of securing minimum passing marks in a subject/section of CPT examination. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. 1/4 (One Fourth) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Please note that multiple darkened circles for a question will also be treated as wrong answer. such students who have once passed the CPT examination are not eligible to apply/appear afresh/again in the CPT examination. |

Re: Passing criteria for CPT exam?
CPT is the entrance gate to become a charted accountant.Becoming a CA is not so easy you have to work hard from the beginning.
Passing marks for CPT IS 50%. CPT Will be of 200 marks divided into 2 sessions of 2hours each. There are four subjects as follows. 1.Fundamentals of accounting.(60marks) 2.Mercentalie laws(40marks). 3.General Economics(50marks). 4.Quantitative maths(50). All the questions will be of objective type comprising of four options.Be careful about the negative markings 1/4th of marks will be deducted for every one wrong answer. If you cleared CPT by scoring above 50% marks than think that you have entered in to the gate of impossibilities to make it possible. |
