what is the approximate % required to get admission in best IIT colleges for electrical?which is the best college for m-tech in electrical in west bengal?

For taking admission into iit for m.tech either you will have to qualify jee or gate exam. Percentage required through gate varies every year, but its nearly about 45 for general.

It's not based on percentage but the rank you got in IIT JEE....Usually you will get nice branch if you are below 1500 in old colges.

if you want to take admission to any IITs then you should have taken the GATE EXAM

.because that is the only way you can get into IIT college .if you have percentile around

98 to 99 then you can easily get admission to IITs.

percentage required for admission in iit college for mtech

i am swapan adhikari my get score is 360 and my rank is 7116 in ee department. can i get admission in besu, jadavpur or any college in west-bengal.

Does the gap of 5 years between 12 th and BCA admission will affect my career? I have passed 12th science in 2003,and took admission for BCA in 2009.These 5 years,I was doing engineering in electronics,which I discontinued.Now,I have got 65% in BCA 1. I want to know,even if I get good marks in BCA,does this gap between 12th and BCA,will affect my career?

M.Tech is the Master's in Technology course which is basically a post graduation program.

IIT's and NIT's are considered as the best institutions in the M.Tech courses. BITS is also good.

So, the IIT's conduct an entrance exam for this called the GATE.

GATE is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This is an All India Entrance Exam which is conducted to select candidates for the various M.Tech courses in the IIT's and NIT's and all other colleges across India.


The Basic Eligibility Criteria's to apply for the GATE exam are :

• You should be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharmacy from a recognized university or college.

• You should have scored atleast 50% aggregate in the qualifying exam.

• There are no limits to the age and the number of attempts that you take for this exam.

So If you have more than 50% or an equivalent CGPA in your graduation, then surely you can take your attempt in the GATE 2012.

The GATE 2012 Notification is already out, and the Online exam would be held on 29th January 2012, and the offline would be held on 12th February.

Since the last date for applying is already over, you need to apply next year if you have not applied this year.
