Is it possible to apply for IPCC group without passing CPT?

I have completed my B.Com. Now, can I apply for IPCC group of Chartered Accountancy course without appearing for CPT? Or, do I need to appear for CPT first?

IPCC refers to Integrated Professional Competence Course and it is the stage second course of three staged CA (Chartered Accountancy) course.

To join IPCC, a candidate has two options, one through CPT route in which the candidate has to qualify CPT (Common Proficiency Test) to pursue foundation course in CA first and then register for IPCC. Further, the second option is through the Direct Entry scheme in which a candidate is exempted from CPT and is allowed to register for IPCC, provided the candidate has completed his/her degree course in commerce stream with at least 55% marks (or 60% marks in case of any other stream) from a recognised university.

So, having completed your B.Com degree course, you are eligible to directly apply for IPCC if you have managed to secure 55% marks in your B.Com degree.

Yes, you can apply for IPCC group directly after completion of your B.Com course without appearing in CPT examination. You should have secured at least 55% aggregate marks in your B.Com course to be eligible to register for IPCC, else you have to appear in CPT examination to apply for IPCC group.

Having completed your B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce ) degree course, you are eligible to register for IPCC ( Integrated Professional Competence Course ) by skipping CPT, if your aggregate in B.Com degree is at least 55% otherwise you will have to go through CPT ( Common Proficiency Test ).

For more details regarding eligibility conditions for CPT and IPCC registration, you can refer to the link www.icai.org.in.

The full form of IPCC is Integrated Professional Competence course. Chartered Accountancy course has three stages:

Common Proficiency Test.

Integrated Professional Competence course.

Final course.

Graduates and post graduates with minimum of 55% marks can directly apply for IPCC. Candidates with less than 55% marks need to qualify CPT examination.
