Re: Is it possible to do MBBS after diploma in Mechanical Engineering?
No it is not possible. There is huge difference between two courses. You can not get admission for MBBS based on performance in diploma in Engineering course. I fail to understand why suddenly you want to shift track.
Since you have completed diploma in Mechanical Engineering, you should go for B.Tech course instead of MBBS. If Medical was your first choice then what is the point of doing diploma in Engineering? Both are two very different fields and absoutely not related to each other. Like I said, you should do B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Since you have completed diploma in the same branch, you are eligible for lateral entry in the Engineering college. This would give you admission in the second year of B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Almost every single Engineering college in India reserve some seats for the lateral entry scheme. Mostly in the range of 10 to 15 percent. If you have scored around 60 percent in Mechanical Engineering diploma then there is a good possibility that Engineering colleges would give you admission directly without having to appear in entrance exam. Other candidates would require to appear in entrance exam called LEET. The reason I am recommending B.Tech is because you have already completed diploma in the same field and Mechanical engineering is one of the most sought after courses in India. The demand of Mechanical Engineerings is huge in India. Plenty of jobs are available for them in private and government sector. Therefore It would be wrong to pursue MBBS now. Besides since you have completed diploma course I am not sure that you even meet the basic eligibility for appearing in the MBBS entrance exam. The reason i said that is because most diploma courses are done after 10th, however to appear in MBBS entrance exam you need to have minimum qualification of 12th. Therefore unfortunately you would not be able to appear for the medical entrance exam which is essential to get admission for MBBS. There is no lateral entry admission for diploma course holder in MBBS. In fact there isn't any lateral entry scheme in MBBS. This is something that government has been telling candidates for a long time. |

Re: Is it possible to do MBBS after diploma in Mechanical Engineering?
No Dear it is not possible to do MBBS after doing Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
MBBS is Bachelor of Medical and Bachelor of Surgery. It is the medical field and Chemistry, Physics and Biology is a compulsory subjects. B.Tech is Bachelor of Technology. B.Tech is the technical field and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in this field. After doing diploma in Mechanical Engineering you can get direct entry into the 2nd year of the B.Tech course through the Lateral Entry Scheme. But it is not possible in case of MBBS. If you were interested in medical field you should have prepared for intrance exams. But now when you have already done diploma in ME then it is wise to stick to the Engineering field only. Mechanical engineering is one of the ever demanding branch in Engineering. |

Re: Is it possible to do MBBS after diploma in Mechanical Engineering?
No,
These are two different fields so,it is not possible. Mechanical Engineering- is one of the specialisation of Engineering which deals with Machines. MBBS- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is the full form of MBBS. |
