Hello..

Its good to see your interest to become an IAS Officer.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. To become an IAS you have to pass UPSC Civil Service Examination(CSE).

Graduate Holder in any stream & have Age between 21 to 33 years for General category( 21 to 35 for OBC, 21 to 35 for SC/ST) can apply for Civil Service Exam.

Civil Service Exam has 2-stages:

-Preliminary Exam

-Main Exam

`If you pass both exam then you will be finally called for Interview.

Minimum Educational Qualifications are:
The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the
Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an
Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Age :- 21 years to 35 years, age relaxation for reserved candidates as per Govt guide lines i.e 3 years in upper limit for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

No. of Attempts:- 4 for General , no limit for reserved categories.

HI!
I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.
I.A.S exam is also known as Civil Services Exam.
For Civil services exam you have to pass graduation with any stream from recognized university.

You can apply for civil services exam both online and offline.
Offline form will be available at G.P.O in every district.

Friend I am sorry to say that you can't apply for I.A.S now because last date of submission of form is over.

CIVIL SERVICES (PRELIMINARY) EXAM., 2012
Date of notification:-04.02.2012
Last Date of receipt of form:- 05.03.2012(MONDAY)
Date of exam:- 20.05.2012(SUNDAY)

CIVIL SERVICES (MAIN) EXAM., 2012
Date of exam:- 05.10.2012(FRIDAY)

Answer:
IAS examination is the most toughfest examination in the sense that it requires a good quality hardwork for atleast one or two years in the choosen subjects.
the procedure includes submission of examination form which appears around march.all the importent dates starting from dispatchment of examination forms to the date of result.
a person holding a graduate degree in any discipline is eligible to apply for the examination.
