Eligibilty for IPS exam:

*You must posses you graduate degree from any disipline from any recogonised university.

*You must be atleast 21 year of age while filling you UPSC exam and maximum age should be 30years.

*Candidate who are in their final semester and waiting for their result also applicable for IPS exam.

*There are som physical requirement also you can get it in application form and you must be citizen of india.

DETAILS ABOUT IPS EXAMINATION -

If you are Interested to become IPS Officer, then For this you have to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. And the Examination was held Every Year. The Notification was Published in the employment newspaper OR in the official website of UPSC in the month of February Every Year.

But only those candidates are eligible to apply for this examination who have completed his Graduation in any stream from a recognised University And your age should between 21 to 30 Years, Final year graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for This examination.

So, If you have completed your Graduation Course In any stream, then definitely you are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examinations.

The paper of civil services are held in 2 stages, Firstly Preliminary examination and then Main Examination. In Preliminary examination there are 2 papers Both are compulsory and of Objective Type with 200 Marks Each. If you have crack the preliminary examination, then you are eligible for Main examination and in this examination you have to opt a optional subject according to the graduate basis. The examination was held every year and this year Preliminary Examination was already completed. So You have missed the chance in this year, But please dont worry Just apply for this examination Next year.

The Required Quqlification is,

1)A pass in a degree from any University,
2)For IAS and IPS the candidate must be a citizen of India,
3)For other services a candidate can be either a citizen of India,a subject of Nepal,a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetian refugee

AGE LIMIT
1)21 years must be completed by the 1st AUGUST of that year,
2)GENERAL-30,OBC-33,SC/ST-35;EX-SERVIC… WILL GET 5 YEARS EXEMPTION

IPS stands for Indian Police Service and joining for in this great organization,the candidates have to succeed in civil service Examination conducted by union public service commission.The eligibility criteria for IPS civil service examination are given below

Age requirement:

During the applying year of 1St august candidate must have attained 21 years of age.Minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 30 in the case of candidate coming under general category and 33 for OBC candidates and 35 for candidates coming under SC/ST category.In the case of ex-servicmen an age relaxation an age relaxation of 5 more years is given

Educational Qualification

The candidate must be Graduate holder of any discipline from a recognized university The candidates who are in the final year of their degree courses can also apply for this examination .Candidates who have completed their M.B.B.s,but not have completed the required internship during the time of submission of the application to the main examination will be provisionally admitted for the main examination.

Physical qualification for IPS

Height:

Male 165cm and Female 150cm for general category Students.


Coming Under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female

Chest:

Minimum requirement in the case of male candidates is 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm.In the case of female candidates the minimum requirement is 79cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm

Eye sight:

6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for
good eye.Near vision for worse eye is j2 and for good eyes is J1


The Physical Standards are essential for IPS .which includes weekly run for 10 km in 60 minutes,rope climbing ,horse riding,PT obstacles,etc...

21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relax-able for SCs/STs, OBC's and defense personnel).

SC/ST - upto a maximum of 5 years.

OBC - upto a maximum of 3 years.

Defense personnel - upto a maximum of 5 years.


2. Educational Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in any stream by a recognized university.

3. No. of permissible attempts :

For general candidates Four attampts

Seven attempts of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs .

IPS Exam Eligibility :- The basic eligibility to appear in the IPS exam is to

Eligibility for IPS exam

You must be 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum) at the time of taking exam. SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen are given exemption of 3 to 5 years in maximum age limit.
People belonging to general category can appear for IPS exam four times, while OBCs can appear for seven times but no limit has been set for SC/ST. keep in mind, even appearing in just exam is counted as an attempt.
You also need to meet physical standards mentioned in application form.



IPS exam pattern

The UPSC examination comprises of two successive stages. IPS exam is carried out by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and constitutes two stages:

The Preliminary Examination and
The Main Examination.

Preliminary Exam comprises multiple choice questions and is also a qualifying exam for appearing into second exam.
Main Examination which comprises a written exam and an interview.

I.A.S exam exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream fron recginiced university.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts
