You can join Indian Army after passing 12th or After completing Graduation course.

You can join Indian Army after 12th, after Graduation or even after Post Graduation.

To join Indian Army, educational qualification and age both are equially important.

MEN

After 12th there are two possible wasy to get into Indian Army.
i) NDA examination
Qualification: 12th pass in any discipline.
Age:16.5-19 years.
ii) Technical Entry Scheme (10+2)
Qualification: 12th pass with at least 70% marks with PCM subjects.
AGe: 16.5-19.5 years
After Graduation there are many possible ways for entry into the Indian Army.
i) CDS entry: UPSC conducts Combined Defence Services examination.
Qualification: Graduation in any stream
Age: 19-24 years (Permanent Commission for IMA)
19-25 years (Short Service Commission for OTA)
ii) NCC Special Entry
Qualification: Graduation in any stream with at least 50% marks
and at least B-Grade in "C" certificate exam of NCC.
Age: 19-25 years

iii) Engineers' Entry

a. University Entry Scheme
This entry scheme is applicable only for pre-final year students of B.Tech. only
The age limit is 19-25 years.

b. TGC (Engineers)
This entry schme is for final year students of B.Tech. and for B.Tech.
passedout students.
The age limit is 20-27 years.

c. Apart from UES and TGC entry there is also a Short Service Commission
entry for engineers.
The age limit is 20-27 years.

The notification for all these entries are published from time to time in the
Employment News weekly and leading newpapers.
You should check the Employment newspapers regularly so that
you can stay updated regarding any upcomoing recruitment.
The specialization of B.Tech. required in a particular type of entry
is published in the notification itself.

iv) Law Graduate Enrty (JAG)
Qualification: LLB/LLM with at least 55% marks.
Age: 21-27 years.

v) Post Graduate Entry
Quaalification: M.A./M.Sc. with 1st or 2nd class.
Age:23-27 years.

WOMEN

Women can join Indian Army after Graduation.

i) CDS entry
Through CDS examination of UPSC, women can apply for admission in
Officers Training Academy which is a Short Service Commission.

ii) Women can also apply for NCC Special Entry

iii) Women can also apply for engineer entry under Short Srvice Commission.

iv) Law Graduate Entry
Separate advertisement for women law graduate is published from time to time.
The criteria remain almost same.

v) Women can also apply for Post Graduate entry.

If You have completed 12th standard then you are applicable for Indian Army exam through NDA exam.Because this exam not require any kind of percentage marks.

The educational qualification depends on the cader of the job you want to join in.The minimum educational qualification required will be 12th.After passing out 12th,you can write the n.d.a exam,through which you can enter into the Indian army.The qualifications required to join indian army are as follows:

1)You should be a citizen of India.
2)Your age should be between 19-25 years.
3)You should be 12th passed with science stream.
4)You should be free from all diseases and disabilities.
5)You should be both physically and mentally fit.

Height should be minimum of 157.5cms for Men

The NDA examination is conducted by the Union Public service commission twice in a year. This exam is conducted for the selection of candidate as an officer in Indian Air force, Army and Navy.

The eligibility required for the National defence academy examination is given below:

Education Qualification

For the National defence academy examination a candidate should be 10+2 pass. Those appeared in the 10+2 exam or going to be appeared for the 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply for the National defence academy examination.
Candidate applying for the Indian Air force and Navy should have physics and maths at 10+2.


Age Limit

Candidate applying for the National defence academy examination should have age between 16.5 to 19 years.

There are basically two modes through which once can join Indian Army as an officer:
Through NDA Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission
Technical Entrance Scheme

In order to join Indian Army through NDA Examination, you must have passed higher secondary examination from a recognized board and must be within the age limit of 16.5 to 19 years.

In order to join through the Technical Entry Scheme, you must have passed higher secondary examination with a minimum of 70% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. As far as age limit is concerned, the minimum eligible age is 16.5 years and the maximum age limit is 19.5 years.

Candidates applying for the NDA Examination need to go through written examination whereas, those applying through the Technical Entry Scheme needs to appear for an interview instead of written examination.

The application procedure for both modes, i.e. NDA Examination as well as Technical Entrance Scheme, is carried out twice a year.

Indian Army can be joined basically in two ways:- one after 12th through NDA and another after Graduation through CDS entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.

NDA - National Defence Academy - The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health.

Required Educational Qualification to join Indian army is completion of 12th class.

*Not only education qualification and physical qualification also required.

*After physical test they check medical report of you.

The minimum qualification required for joining Indian Army as Officer is 10+2 passed from a recognized Board of Education.

NDA examination is conducted by UPSC for recruiting cadets in the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy. Any 10+2 pass candidate can apply for this examination. The age should be between 16.5 to 19 years and you must be an unmarried male.

The selection in the academy is based on the marks obtained in the Written Exam ,SSB and Medical examination. Those in merit will be selected for the academy.

There is Technical Entry Scheme (TES) also available for those who have passed 10+2 with PCM and have scored above 75% marks in PCM.

After completion of Graduation also one can join Indian Army through examinations like CDS and various Short Service Commissions.

The age Limit for CDS examination is given below for different Academies:

Indian Air Force Academy - 19 to 23 years

Indian Naval Academy - 19 to 22 years

Indian Military Academy - 19 to 24 years

Officers' Training Academy - 19 to 25 years
