M.Tech specializations in Mechanical Engineering and their order of preference
1. Thermal Engineering
2. Computer Integrated Manufacturing
3. Automobile Engineering
4. Manufacturing Engineering
5. Material Technology
6. Industrial Engineering
7. Product Design and Development
8. Industrial Safety Engineering

Hello friend...

Mechanical is one of the core branches.It deals with the designing of the machines and also the spare parts required to design the machines.

There are many streams for you to opt in M.tech

But I think that 'ROBOTICS' is a good way to go for..
Its all upto your interest in which way you want to go.

There are many more branches like designing etc.which are also very good..
Mechanical engineers today has a bright future ahead.

After completion of your BTech in mechanical engineering you can get admission into MTech through GATE.In MTech you have lot of stream some of them are
1.Thermal engineering
2.CAD/CAM technology
3.Production engineering
4.Industrial engineering
5.Automobile engineering
6.Manufacturing
7.Design
8.Stress ,strain analysis in Machine elements.

i have cgpa of 6.57 in b.tech mechanical. can i get into the iits for m. tech in design....
