Steps to become an IAS Officer for an MA student?
Hello everyone, I am studying in MA course right now. I want to become an IAS Officer. I don't know the process so I need your help. Kindly let me know about the steps through which I can become an IAS Officer.

To become an IAS Officer you have to clear the prestigious Civil Services Exams(CSE).UPSC condusts the CSE every year to make recruitments to various posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc. ...
There is preliminary exam , main exam and a personal interview. You need to get clear through all these processes... Being graduate you can apply for upcoming exam |

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. The examination conducted by Union Public Services Commission for recruitment to IAS is Civil Services.
Step I: You need to apply for Civil Services examination. The notification for this exam in 2020 will be released in February 2020. Bachelor's degree is the minimum academic qualification and the age limit is 21-32 years. Step II: You need to appear for the different stages of exam. The first stage is Preliminary exam, second stage is Mains exam and final stage is Personal interview. Merit is prepared on basis of marks in mains exam and personal interview. Depending upon your rank, you will be alloted Indian Administrative Services. Top rankers are alloted IAS. |

UPSC conducts Civil Service Examination. It is conducted every year.
The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university. Examination is conducted in three stages. So, you can start the preparation for examination as per the syllabus. Candidates after qualifying in all stages of examination become eligible for final selection as an officer. To become an IAS officer, you should have minimum educational qualification of graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

Steps to become an IAS Officer for an MA student is that you will have to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Examination which has three steps:-
1. The first stage of the exam – Preliminary (objective) – is usually conducted around June. 2. The second stage, Mains (written), is conducted around September-October. 3. Those who clear Mains will have to face an interview/personality test during the March-May period. The final result usually comes in May end. |

To be an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination held once every year by UPSC. The same examination comprises of three stages which includes Preliminary test, followed by Mains and Personal Interview.
The minimum education required to apply for the Civil Services examination is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Students pursuing final year of their degree course are also eligible. Apart from educational qualification, you must be an Indian citizen with your age lying within 21 years to 32 years as on the 1st August of the year of examination. Age relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category as per the government norms. So, being a student of MA degree course, you are eligible to become IAS officer by qualifying the Civil Services examination as far as the educational requirement for the same examination is concerned. You are eligible to appear in the Civil Service examination as per the required educational qualification.
The age limit to appear in the examination is 21-32 years with relaxation for reserved category. The examination will be conducted in three stages. So, you can start the preparation and do hard as well as smart work to qualify in the examination. Go through the syllabus and then start the preparation. Consistency is the key to success. The educational qualifications required for the IAS examination mentioned below:- 1. Candidates must have completed their graduation degree in any discipline from any recognised college or, university. 2. Final year candidates are also eligible. 3. Nationality:- Indian. 4. Age limit:- 21-32 years. 5. Age relaxation:- 3 years for OBC and 5 years for S/ST candidates. |
