Syllabus of I.E.S Examination

The acronym for IES is Indian Engineering Services.

The selection procedure of IES examination is mentioned as below:-

* Preliminary examination.

* Mains examination.

* Personal interview.

The eligibility criteria required for IES examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in civil engineering/mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/electronics and communication engineering from any recognised college or university.

* Age limit- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors.

* Final year students of graduation are also eligible for IES examination.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conduct a combined competitive examination for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES) officer every year .

UPSC conducts IES Examination in following branch of engineering

Category I—Civil Engineering.

Category II—Mechanical Engineering.

Category III—Electrical Engineering.

Category IV—Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

IES 2013 Eligibility Criteria:-

Age limits:

* 21-30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination.

* (Upper age limit relax able for SC/St, OBC )

Educational Qualifications:-

* A degree in Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.

IES Exam 2013 Pattern:-

Part I- General Ability Test 200 Marks

Part I- Objective Paper I 200 Marks & Objective Paper II 200 Marks

Part II- Conventional Paper I 200 Marks & Conventional Paper II 200 Marks

Date of Notification:- 16.03.2013

Last Date of Receipt of Applications:- 15.04.2013

Exam Date:- 28.06.2013 (FRIDAY)
