CPT stands for Common Proficiency Test. This test is conducted twice every year in month of June and December by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The eligibility criteria for this exam is 10+2 passed or appearing from a recognized board.

At present, the scheme of CPT exam is that there are 200 objective questions from different subjects like Fundamentals of Accountancy, Economics, Aptitude, Mercantile law. There is negative marks for wrong answer. You must score at least 30% marks in each subject and overall 50% aggregate to clear this test.

This is the first stage of Chartered Accountancy course followed by Integrated Professional Competence course and final course.
