Hi, I want to do MBA via correspondence mode of education. So, do I need to write any entrance for distance/correspondence MBA also? If yes, then please share entrance details. Or, can I get direct admission in any distance college or university offering correspondence MBA?

Entrance exam for admission in MBA via correspondence mode of education:-

Generally, a distance MBA is for two years and can be completed in a span of four years.
Few institutes offer admission to distance MBA on the basis of MBA entrance score like
CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT or any other entrance exam.

The norms of different institutes vary. Most of the institutes do not have an entrance test for Distance Learning Admissions. However, some of the institutes do conduct an entrance test for their admission process, such as:


IGNOU: To take admission in IGNOU, for management programmes, the student would have to undergo an OPENMAT entrance exam, held in IGNOU, twice a year.

°°° for admission to correspondence MBA you have to qualify in OPENMAT Management Aptitude Test conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Selection pattern for the admission in Distance MBA are as follows-
Most of the institutes conduct their own entrance exams while some do not have an entrance test. For eg; Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) accepts scores of management exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, etc. On the other hand, NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education offers admission based on the eligibility criteria (Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognised university with 50% marks in aggregate along with two years work experience).
IGNOU provides admission to candidates on the basis of IGNOU OPENMAT (conducted twice a year).
