What is the age criteria to be eligible to apply for AFCAT?

I am 20 years male candidate. Am I eligible to join Indian Air Force? Do I need to appear for AFCAT entrance examination? Or, is there any other entrance? Is my age suitable for Indian Air Force?

Yes, you are eligible to join Indian Air Force through AFCAT exam as per your age criteria.

During the time of commencement of course, your age must be between 20 to 24 years. Since, your age is 20 years, so you are eligible for it.

However, if your holding Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA, then your upper age limit is defined to be 26 years.

As far as you are concerned about the age limit for appearing in AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is 20 years to 24 years in case of Flying branch. Upper age limit is relaxed by 2 years in case of candidates having current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India). Further, in case of ground duty branch, the age limit for all candidates is 20 years to 26 years.

So, being 20 years old, you are eligible to apply for AFCAT, if you satisfy other eligibility conditions required to apply for the same examination.

Further, other entries available for joining Indian Force is through NDA, CDS, and Airmen recruitment.

For detailed information regarding different entries available in Indian Air force, you can refer to the link www.careerairforce.nic.in.
