Hai,
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. IAS exam conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) once in a year. No need of any compulsory stream in 12th standard or in graduation. So any stream candidates are eligible. Eligibility criteria:- The candidate should be complete graduation in any discipline from a recognised university. Final year graduation students are also eligible. Percentage is not important to appear this exam. The applicant must be an Indian origin. Age criteria:- The age limits are 21 years to 30 years, The age limits for OBC category--> 21 years to 33 years, The age limits for SC/ST category--> 21 years to 35 years, The age limits for PWD category--> 21 years to 40 years. Selection procedure:- Civil Services Preliminary examination, Civil Services Mains examination, Personal interview. Syllabus for Preliminary examination:- Paper-I200 Marks)[/U] Current events of national and international importance, History and india and Indian national movement, Indian and world Geography- Physical, Social, economic geography of india and the world, Indian polity and Governance- Constitution, Political system, Panchayti Raj, public policy, Rights issues etc, Economic and Social development sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, Demographics, social sector initiatives etc, General issues on environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and climate change, Paper-II: Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills, Logical reasoning and analytical ability, Decision making and problem solving, General mental ability, Basic Numeracy, Data interpretation, English language comprehension skills. You must complete graduation to apply for IAS. Pass in degree must be obtained in any of the disciplines of study. Your age must be between 21 and 30 years. Prelims, mains, and interview session are conducted for selection process. Prelims exam is conducted by UPSC in the month of May. Applications can be submitted online via the website of UPSC.
