what is CSAT and its syllabus,how to apply it?is pre final year can attend this exam?

CSAT i.e Civil Service Aptitude Test is conducted by Union Public Service Examination Once in a year. 2014 Exam notification was already released and last date for receipt of application on 30th June 2014. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Qualification from a recognized University is the minimum Education Qualification. Students appearing for their final examination are eligible to apply. But pre-final year candidates are ineligible to apply for this examination.

Application will only be accepted Online Mode. Students are required to apply online by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in. The Examination shall comprises of two mandatory papers of 200 Marks each. Both the question papers will be set in bilingual. The Examination will consist of two papers of Objective type questions.

Paper - I : 200 Marks- 2 Hours

• Current Events of National and International Importance
• History of India and Indian National Movement
• Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the world
• Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues
• Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives
• General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change
• General Science

Paper II: 200 marks - 2 Hours

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision-making and problem solving
• General mental ability
• Basic numeracy (Class X level)
• English language comprehension (Class X level)
