You can sit for the CMSE exam which is conducted by UPSC every year. Full form of CMSE is Combined Medical Services Examination, The notification of the exam is usually released in the month of August and the exam takes place in January.

CMSE Exam is usually conducted for the following posts:

• Assistant Divisional Medical Officers in the Railways.
• Junior Scale Posts in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service.
• Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services.
• Medical Officers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
• General Duty Medical Officers in NDMC.

Qualification required: You need to have an MBBS degree to appear for this exam. Final year students can also apply.

Age Criteria: The upper age limit is 32 years. Relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC.

Scheme of Examination:-

Paper I (200 marks):-

• General Medicine including Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology and Psychiatry- 60%
• Surgery including ENT, Ophthalmology, Traumatology and Orthopaedics- 40%

Paper II (200 Marks):-

• Paediatrics- 20%
• Gynaecology and Obstetrics- 40%
• Preventive, Social and Community Medicine- 40%

Personality Test- 200 marks
