What is the difference between 'A' and 'AS' level in IGCSE?

What is the difference between 'A' and 'AS' levels in IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and which is the higher level 'A' or 'AS'? And, what A and AS stands for in IGCSE?

Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
