M.Tech. - Master of Technology which can be pursed after completion of B.Tech. in any stream.
The eligible candidate being an Indian Citizen, having completed B.Tech. Degree in any stream with at least 50% marks from a recognisd University, is eligible for admission to M.Tech. courses. The admission to M.Tech. courses is conducted on the basis of marks secured in B.Tech. level. If you want to take admission to M.Tech. courses in any reputed Institutions, you have to crack entrance exam like GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) conducted by IIT and Indian Institute of Science for admission to IITS, NITS etc. There is no percentage of marks required in B.Tech. for application to GATE. |

Re: What is the eligibility criteria for M.Tech? Percentage required?
For getting admission into M.Tech you have to appear for entrance examination.
GATE is the most popular exam for admission into M.Tech. course. If you want to get admission into top colleges like IITs and NITs then you have to qualify GATE. GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it is conducted by IITs and IISc Bangalore jointly. Those who qualify GATE will get admission into M.Tech course with full stipend. The stipend is sponsored by AICTE. After qualifying GATE you have other options also like getting job in PSUs which recruit on the basis of GATE score. There are many Universities also which conduct entrance examination for Non GATE qualified Engineering Graduates for admission into M.Tech. But you will not get stipend through these entrance and also the course will be very expensive if you get into private college. So if you want to get admission into top M.Tech colleges then qualify GATE because most of the JRF are given on the basis of GATE scores. You can also apply for CSIR NET if you are an Engineering Graduate. This will give you eligibility for JRF and lecturership in various Government colleges. |

Re: What is the eligibility criteria for M.Tech? Percentage required?
M.Tech stands for Master of Technology. This is a 2 year Post Graduate program in technical stream being offered by many of the colleges in India.
The minimum academic qualification that is required for the candidates in order to join M.Tech course is by completion of Graduation in Engineering. No minimum percentage of marks are required for the candidates in order to apply for Entrance Exam but better if you have scored 60% of marks in your Engineering course. The top Entrance Exam to join M.Tech course is GATE Exam. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This Entrance Exam is being conducted once in a year to give admission for the candidates for M.Tech course in various colleges and IITs across India. Candidates who are pursuing final year of Engineering course also can apply for this Exam. There is no upper age limit to give this Exam. There is no limit on the number of attempts as well. You can give this exam as many times as you wanted. In addition, the validity of the GATE score card is for 2 years, in the sense if you have appeared for GATE exam in 2 consecutive years, you can use the GATE score whichever is better to join M.Tech course. If you possess the above mentioned criteria, you can apply for GATE Exam. Wish you all the best. |
